Exploring nature through art in Sweden. My first workshop abroad with Year 5 and 6 at NordingrĂ„ School – we used sticks and inks to create a 12-foot abstract painting inspired by the High Coast’s forests, waters and mountains.
Grateful to the children, teachers and partners who made this possible.
In collaboration with @nordingrÄkonstby and supported by Kramfors Municipality.
Victoria Anne Collis, MA guiding the Year 6 children through the forest in a guided visualisation -grounding, breathing, touching, and passing gifted objects from the special forests of NordingrĂ„, including a soapstone from the mountain – to help bring us back into the feeling, the sense within, before we got joyfully messy with inks! September 2025.

Stretching 12 feet across the weathered wooden floor, the paper invited the children to make marks, dips, and strokes with their sticks, letting creativity lead the way!
Experimenting with inks and natural dyes – black and green tea, coffee – using long sticks foraged from the forest to create playful marks on paper.
